Whispering Beast X Émilie

Whispering Beast X Émilie is an ecosystemic collaboration between Émilie Girard-Charest and Scott L. Miller. Surrounded by speakers, Émilie is improvising as she lives in the middle of a sonic ecosystem. The microphones in the center of the performance space enable the computer (running Kyma) to "listen" to the behavior of sound in the space (including Émilie). Kyma is programmed to then modify, remove, or introduce new sound in response to what it hears.

An alternate version of this work, titled "Avec Scott," is available on a CD of Émilie's collaborations, titled "Avec," on the Kohlenstoff label.

Recorded and filmed at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre 04 January 2015 by Tammo Sumera and Mait Visnapuu.
